How do I hate this new version of WordPress? Let me count the ways. I can’t figure out how to get back to the old easy-to-use version.
This blog post that took me so long to write because it is not intuitive, got totally wiped out so now I am really angry.
In corporate life I was a web designer/content manager so I ‘m not a total idiot regarding websites. But WordPress just got way too complicated for my capabilities. When I calm down, IF I calm down, I’ll come back and attempt to re-create the post.
In the meantime….. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR…

Go into admin, posts, add new. Up at the top left there is a drop down that lets you chose classic editor. When you get there bookmark it. I complained on post a week or two ago and someone from WP commented with links to tutorials. I intend to watch them but I’m just not in the mood. I understand the classic will go away forever in 2022. Good luck. No, it’s not intuitive.

Thanks Kate. Sorry I missed your rant but I’m not on WordPress as often as I’d like to be… just too much going on. Thanks for the help, I did as you suggested. I know that as the internet changes WordPress has to keep evolving and that using older versions of updated software can be an invitation for hackers but I really prefer that classic version. I have to suck it up and make friends with it… one more thing I don’t have time for!

You are the third blogger to tell this story. I have no doubt that you will work your way out of the difficulty. I may have to ask my friends whether they would allow temporary adoption of a grandchild or two.

I understand there has been quite an outcry about the new content management system so hopefully they will still allow side by side usage of the old system to keep people happy. Time will tell!
