Feline Friday – #96 – view from on high

Frankie and Freddie

Cats love high places, that’s for sure. And the more precarious those places are, the more they like it.

One of their favorite locations is on the loft wall. See upper left corner of photo above. It’s a great view into the living room downstairs. Upstairs they can watch me in my office and keep an eye on what is going on out on the roof deck.

Freddie and Frankie

Heights scare me so I was definitely not a cat in a previous life. Maybe an elephant with my feet planted firmly on the ground.

What bothers me about this idyllic photo is that at any moment Frankie the Bully could take a poke at Freddie the Gentle Giant who could lose his balance and fall into the living room. But I can’t be supervising them every minute so I have to let it go.

Born in Brighton, England, I've lived my entire adult life in Los Angeles, California. A few years ago I rediscovered photography which is a great excuse to get outside and look. I'm also in the process of re-writing some of my unpublished short stories and possibly a novel. .

  1. Great photos! That was my first thought, that kitty on the wall could fall. I suspect he would walk away in fine shape. Cats… 😻😻

  2. I lost a cat many years ago when she fell off a balcony (she was frightened), hit her back on the way down and broke her spine. So you never know.

  3. Oh my..that is living life on edge literally. I hope sure footed kitties are firmly rooted. Like you, I am afraid of heights and would worry if the cat trips. I suppose they are lithe and would land on their feet? Still, I would shoo them off 😂

  4. I have a loft and mine like to look down on me as well. The scary part is when they chase each other up there, or when they first jump up. Then there is Zeke who likes to look down dangling his front legs over the edge!
