Feline Friday – #81 – leisure time for Friday

friday

Never enough meeses to play with.

These photos are an homage to my late, great Tuxedo Cat Friday. He passed away in 2013 at the age of 18. He knew how to live the good life!

Some privacy while I wash, please!

He was a very friendly, playful, sweet cat most of the time. But due to missing a protein in his brain he exhibited characteristics of being bipolar and schizophrenic.

Just five minutes more….

I’ve written about his condition previously. He was on amitriptyline every 24 hours. It saved his life as otherwise I would not have been able to keep him. Without the medication he was extremely aggressive towards me and in the middle of the night would run up and down the stairs and slam himself against the walls. It was pretty terrifying and I lived in fear of him for several months. The day he went on the medication he became a different cat.

If you encounter a cat with these traits, ask the vet about amitriptyline!

I am an explorer and creative person. I've had many jobs, careers and interests... everything in life and the universe fascinates me. Born in Brighton, England, I've lived my entire adult life in Los Angeles, California. A few years ago I rediscovered photography which is a great excuse to get outside and look. I'm also in the process of re-writing some of my unpublished short stories and possibly a novel. .

  1. Gosh I have never come across this before in a cat. It must have been so heart breaking for you until you got treatment. x😻💞🐾🐾

    • I was literally going to work looking like a battered wife with scratches and bruises… he turned into being my best friend and I still have his photo on the wall.

  3. Thanks for sharing this, Roslyn. That must have been very frightening.
