One Good Life in Los Angeles

Roslyn's observations about places and events around Southern California

Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook now connected to Culver City Park

Access to the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook is now a little easier thanks to a walking path from the baseball field at Culver City Park to Hetzler Road. Once on Hetzler you have the choice of walking up the road to the top or crossing the street  to the hiking trail. Previously, access was limited to the bottom of Hetzler where it meets Jefferson Boulevard. Walking along Jefferson was not a treat and parking could be difficult.

Below are a series of photos to illustrate how to take the path from Culver City Park to Hetzler Road. Entrance to Culver City Park is at Duquesne Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard. Walk (or drive) up the hill, turn left at the Bone Yard, turn left again and on your right you will see this street.

Climbing to the top of Culver City Park (taking the road past the Bone Yard) is still one of my favorite walks. But now if I have the time and energy I can add the extra exhilaration of the view at the Overlook.

I am an explorer and creative person. I've had many jobs, careers and interests... everything in life and the universe fascinates me. Born in Brighton, England, I've lived my entire adult life in Los Angeles. Recently I rediscovered photography and I am busy learning everything I can about it. It's a great excuse for getting outside, wandering around and stopping to look at things.
